Breast cancer survivors invited to free retreat at ETMC

The ETMC Breast Care Center with support from Susan G. Komen for the Cure is holding a free one-day retreat for breast cancer survivors on Thursday, October 16.  The ETMC Pink Ribbon Getaway will take place at the ETMC Pavilion at 801 Clinic Drive with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. and the conference concluding at 3 p.m.

Physician panel discussion
The event will feature topics such as a physician panel discussion, emerging therapies, genetic testing implications, lymphedema management, support groups, makeup and hair tips for survivors, door prizes, goody bags and more. Meals and snacks will be provided.

Keynote speaker
The keynote speaker is Marion Luna Brem from Corpus Christi, Texas. Brem was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 30. She had two young sons, no job, no health insurance and her husband divorced her.  Hear her incredible story of survival and how she turned her life around to be named Inc. magazine’s Entrepreneur of the Year, Avon Women of Enterprise Award Winner and one of the 100 Most Influential Hispanics in the United States. Brem’s inspirational story has been featured on Oprah, Good Morning America, Reader’s Digest and many more media outlets.
